Oriental Rug Cleaning
We know your Oriental rug is one of your most precious possessions and United Carpet Care & Oriental Rug Cleaning Service treats your rug with the utmost care!
Over time, dust, dirt and pet dander will fade the vibrant beauty of your Oriental rug. These contaminants don’t just stay on the surface of the rug where vacuuming them away is possible. Many work their way down in between the fibers of your rug. Removing them requires the proper cleaning process and is a job that you shouldn’t trust to just anyone. The wrong approach will damage the delicate fibers of your rug and may ruin it beyond repair.
In order to protect your oriental rug, we’ve carefully developed a seven step cleaning process. We use this process to restore the beauty of your rug carefully and safely. Our goal is always to deliver a beautifully cleaned rug, no matter how long the job takes. We never cut corners or take chances with your treasured family heirlooms.
Here is what you can expect from us during our cleaning process:
A Detailed Inspection
Our professional rug cleaners will begin by thoroughly inspecting both the front and back of your rug. We will make you aware of any problems or blemishes we find so that you know exactly what condition your rug is in.
Once the condition of your rug is established, our professional technicians will use compressed air to remove the dust from your rug. We do this with specialized equipment that is carefully calibrated to remove the dust from deep within the carpet fibers without causing damage to them. This process deep cleans the rug, removing the dust particles that your household vacuum cleaner can’t reach.
When it’s free of dust, our rug care technicians will immerse your rug in a submersion bath. While it is underwater, compressed air will gently agitate the water to clean the rug. It will then be treated for all of the most common problems affecting these beautiful rugs. In our submersion tank, rugs receive treatments against:
• Pet odors
• Pet and human excretions
• Insect infestation
• Mold and mildew
All of these treatments are important to keeping your rug in optimal condition, and no one treatment takes care of them all. That’s why we take the time to give your rug multiple treatments for maximum protection.
Once we’re satisfied that your rug is as clean as possible, we rinse it thoroughly to remove any residue left behind by the cleaning process. We use multiple rinse cycles to complete this task and are so thorough that you could safely drink our final rinse water.
There is a precise speed at which an Oriental rug can be safely dried. Drying a rug too quickly or too slowly can both damage its delicate fibers. To avoid this issue, we maintain a strictly controlled drying room in which the atmosphere is perfect for safely drying rugs. All our rugs are air dried in this room where nothing is left to chance.
Once your rug is cleaned and dried, our technicians go over every inch of the fabric, finding and removing any remaining debris or dirt. When we’re satisfied that the rug is as clean as it can possibly be, we carefully rinse and comb out the rug’s fringes. While the rug itself may be multicolored, the fringe is often one solid color. This causes any stains or discolorations to immediately stand out, which is why we pay special attention to this final detail of your rug.
Our optional fiber protection sealant is an excellent way to protect your rug from fading and staining. We use the same protectant on our rugs that the wool it was made with received when it was still on the sheep! Developed in England, this sealant replenishes the protection the wool stopped getting when the sheep it came from was sheered. You won’t find better wool protection for your Oriental rug anywhere. Formerly unavailable, we now offer this same protection against wear and fading for silk blend rugs.
